The following are classifications for choosing the right CERAX product to apply depending on the snow conditions:
- New snow as powder snow (CERAX Pro 3) has sharp edges, which can enter into waxes. Therefore this snow is known as aggressive snow. These sharp edges will disappear
after approximately 2 days.
- Packed snow is usually wet new snow, and the sharp edges disappear immediately. CERAX Pro 4 causes a vacuum between base and snow.
- Wet snow has rather round crystals and contains water between these crystals, therefore CERAX Pro 4 is needed to bond the base to the snow.
- Old and man-made snow can be coarse and fine grained, and both are characterized as amorphous without any clear crystal structure. Man-made snow has sharper edges
and can be more aggressive.
- CERAX Pro 1 is designed for coarse grained snow and CERAX Pro 2 for fine grained snow. As soon as the snow contains water between the crystals Pro 4 should be applied.
- CERAX Pro 5 is applied for very low temperatures, well below 10° F. Pro 5 was added due to the experience in the World Championship 1999 in Kontiolathi, Finland with
snow temperatures below -20° C, and CERAX Pro 5 worked, in contrast to all other waxes/powders in the world!
