Background (from CERAX): CERAX is not a wax. It's a polymer, and in contrast to relatively soft waxes, it produces a hard, highly fluorinated surface through a mechanism that scientists call
self-organization. This self-organization creates a lamellar (thin layer) structure with a very high concentration of fluoro (CF3) groups at the surface. CERAX capitalizes
on the excellent gliding properties of CF3-groups, not so much the hydrophobic properties. The hard coating means CERAX is the first fluorinated material that can
be used even at very low temperatures with excellent durability. In fact, the advantage of CERAX technology increases as the snow becomes more abrasive
(e.g. cold or man-made snow). Five variants of CERAX Pro provide superior performance in all, even the most extreme snow conditions.
